I’m Kellie Gardner, and I have dedicated my career to understanding U.S. Taxes.

In this capacity I can share my passion. I believe that in the U.S., our taxes should be simple enough that unless you have a really complicated business return, you could quickly and easily prepare your own.  In an ideal world, people would come to me, a tax professional, simply because they don’t want to spend the time – not because they don’t know what to do. Taxes shouldn’t be this hard!

Perhaps someday we will get there, but nobody is holding their breath.  Instead, the code, and laws surrounding it, continues to get more complicated. This has created the opportunity for me to use my years of banking experience and passion for working with numbers to help you navigate this complicated mess that comes up once a year.  In the end you can rest assured that your taxes have been done the right way and all available deductions and credits have been applied.

More than 16 years ago, I was a stay-at-home mom that wanted to be able to give back part time.  The kids were in school and there was a break until they came home that needed to be filled with productivity.  Helping others prepare their taxes, it turns out, was the perfect fit.

A few years ago, with the kids grown and having families of their own, I looked hard at the industry and realized there was a lot of corporate oversight that would not allow me put as much energy into your taxes as I wanted to.  So, Gardner Tax Solutions was born as a means to help even more people in the way that was perfect for them.

The doors opened in 2017 as a tax professional and enrolled agent; and I continue to help the Billings community with their tax concerns.  From tax preparation for individuals, small business, or landlords, to helping sort out issues when you get a letter from the IRS, my training has put me in the position to fully understand what you need and what the IRS needs. Thus, setting you on the course to the best outcome.

I have determined that honesty and integrity are my primary core values.  Every month the IRS newsletter comes to my mailbox with stories of accountants and other tax professionals that forgot those core values, and have been shut down or imprisoned as a result.  But fear of retribution is not really the motivation to do a fair and honest job.  The motivation comes after I see tax returns that were prepared quickly, and missed out on big deductions or credits.  I have had many clients over the years that realize their “professional” all of these years has forgotten credits that could have saved them a lot of money.

Honesty isn’t just about not fudging numbers; it’s about putting in the time to ensure you get the biggest return possible.

In 1988, Nike came out with a slogan.  In a time when slogans weren’t popular, they were ahead of their time.  It caught on, and today you see it all over the place: Just Do It.

It’s a mantra that I have adopted into my life.  Tough times will come and go, and when something new and daunting comes up, you have a choice.  Over analyze and come up with any excuse to not get started, or Just Do It.

For me, I choose action.  And that means when it comes to your taxes and IRS issues, you get results.
